The Beijing Olympic flame has reached the Base Camp of Mt. Qomolangma, the world's highest peak. The torch will be carried to its summit on a day with suitable weather in May. CRI correspondent Louis reports from the base camp of Mount Qomolangma.

The Olympic flame arrived at the 5200-meter-high Base Camp of Mt Qomolangma on Friday evening.
Vice-president of the Tibet Autonomous Region, Wu Yingjie, announced the news at the Base Camp.
"Right now it is 8:50 in the evening. The Olympic Flame has arrived at the Base Camp Successfully."
According to the plan, the torch will be carried to the summit of Mt Qomolangma on a day with suitable weather next month.
While the flame is being relayed in Mt Qomolangma, the torch relay in other areas will be paused.
30 Chinese and 11 foreign journalists have also arrived at a place close to the Base Camp to cover the proceedings.
