TRAVEL AGENT: Hey, John! How was your vacation?

JOHN: Actually, it wasn't much of a vacation after all, and I was wondering if I could get a refund or a discount.





TRAVEL AGENT: You're kidding! I'm so sorry to hear that. I know you were looking forward to it.





JOHN: I was! I was hoping this would be the perfect Hawaiian vacation, but that's not how it turned out.

TRAVEL AGENT: That's too bad. So what happened?





JOHN: Well, first of all, Saturday morning, the airport shuttle was 20 minutes late. I thought I was going to miss my flight!

TRAVEL AGENT: But you made it to the airport in time?





JOHN: Well yeah, I was worrying the whole way there, but I made it in time, barely.

TRAVEL AGENT: I see. OK, then how about when you finally got to Hawaii, I'm sure you had a great time then!



JOHN: No. I couldn't believe it. It was raining when I got there, and it kept raining almost the whole week I was there.





TRAVEL AGENT: That's too bad!

JOHN: Yeah, it was disappointing. So, that's why I was hoping that I could get some kind of discount, since my vacation was not much fun at all.

TRAVEL AGENT: Well, I'm sorry to hear that you had such tough luck, but I'm afraid it's out of my hands.



JOHN: Really? There's nothing you can do?





TRAVEL AGENT: As I said, I am sorry, but you really didn't have trouble with your accommodation or your transportation, right?

JOHN: No, I didn't.



TRAVEL AGENT: Well then, I am sorry, I can't offer a discount.



JOHN: OK, well, thanks anyway.
