AMELIA: Let's get a cat for our new home.

NINA: I'd prefer a dog. I like cats, but they're not as friendly as dogs.

AMELIA: Cats are more independent than dogs, and they're quieter. Dogs are noisy. They bark a lot.

NINA: But cats aren't as affectionate as dogs.

AMELIA: Well, most dogs are dirtier than cats.

NINA: Maybe...but cats aren't as intelligent.

AMELIA: What? Everyone knows cats are more intelligent than dogs.







NINA: You want an intelligent pet? Well, how about a turtle? Turtles are smart, and they're smaller than other pets.







AMELIA: A turtle? How unusual. Are they clean?







NINA: Very clean. And quieter than both dogs and cats.



AMELIA: Well, a turtle does seem interesting.







NINA: How about a cute little bird?







AMELIA:They are beautiful. But my mother is afraid of birds.





NINA: So what pet is beautiful, clean and quiet?







AMELIA: I know- fish!
