EMPLOYEE: Welcome back, how was your trip?





BOSS: Thanks. It all went quite well. So tell me, what were you doing when I was away last week?





EMPLOYEE: Well, I was working pretty hard all week.







BOSS: What were you working on mainly?





EMPLOYEE: Well, I was working on the new account with Murray Walkers most of the time, and of course I was preparing the presentation for last Friday.







BOSS: What was John doing during the presentation?





EMPLOYEE: He was helping me with the projector.





BOSS: What were the other members of staff doing during the presentation?





EMPLOYEE: They were just sitting and listening.





BOSS: Where were the clients sitting?





EMPLOYEE: They were sitting at the back of the room, beside the window.





BOSS: Why weren't they sitting at the front?





EMPLOYEE: Because they came late.





BOSS: When did the meeting end?





EMPLOYEE: At about 3pm. We were discussing some problems for about an hour before that.





BOSS: So altogether you were dealing with them for about three hours. Is that right?





EMPLOYEE Yes, that's about right.





BOSS: Did they look like they were enjoying the presentation?





EMPLOYEE: Yes, they certainly did.







BOSS: So you had a good week then?





EMPLOYEE: Yes, very successful.
