Go through the subsequent paragraph and mark all the tense vowels, starting with ‘a’ (there are 12 here). The first one is name [neim], not [nem]. The first [i] sound is the American. The same 5 [œ] sounds can be found as in exercise 3-2 on page 74, plus the [œ o] of sound. Pause the CD to do the marking. Check your answer in the Answer Key, beginning on page 193.
