Dashan: Oh, you're going to love it. The material looks really good. I'll send it to you as soon as I can...I can't believe they mispronounced my name.
Dashan: I'm great--I'm just a little weary from my trip.
L: It' didn't go well?
D: No, Regina was great. I could really use some serious R and R.
L: I didn't catch that.
Coach1: So, who is this Dashan guy?
2: We discovered him in China. He's a " can'-miss" prospect. One of a kind.
1: China? You've got be kidding.
2: give him a chance. He's a natural.
1: All right. One kick. And he better be good because it could cost us both our jobs.
Leah: what is a " can'-miss" prospect?
Dashan: It's a young player who is so good that there's no doubt he'll make the team and play well. So, Paul. How often do you come out to practice?
Paul: about four days a week; two hours a day.
Dashan: Two hours a day, eh? I'd like to practice a little bit more frequently, pretty well every day, but just for an hour each time.
Paul: yeah.
D: what's your kicking style?
Paul: Kicking style?
Dashan: show me what you do?
Paul: it's a soccer style. Take four steps back, and two steps over. And I've got to keep my eye on the ball.
Dashan: That's great. You know, I find though for me, it's more of a mental thing than a physical thing. I like to just close my eyes and I picture the ball sailing through the air.
Paul: But you've got to keep your eyes on the ball.
D: I guess so.
Paul: you want to give it a try?
D: sure. Let's see . That's four steps back. Two and over.
Paul: Good shot.
Paul: well, it's getting close to game time. I've got to get into the weight room. So, why don't you stay out here and kick some more balls.
Leah: you looked pretty well out there.
Dashan: Canadian football is a very physical game. To do your best, it's important to be in tip-top shape.
Dashan: It's also important to prepare yourself mentally for the game.
D: Yeah, it was great. And not just a sweater: shoulder pads, helmet, everything.
Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen. Accompanying Gator tonight, please welcome the international character, Dashan.
Leah: were you nervous?
