PART III - The Lesson
SPECULATING-
(I)REAL CONDITIONS
IF+PRESENT tense
+
主句:FUTURE tense
IF it rains tomorrow,
everything will be all right.
IF it doesn't rain soon,
we 'll go broke.
We'll go broke IF it doesn't rain soon.
A:Of course I won't fail.
B: Yes ,but what ('ll happen) if you do(fail)?
What are you gong to do/What'll you do /What'll happen if it doesn't rain soon?
3.EITHER...OR...
Eigher I'll sell some cattle or Jane
Will have to go back to work.
4.SHOWING SYMPATHY
A:Oh dear,what'll I do?
I've lost my purse.
B:Oh, that's bad!
I'll help you look for it.
如果谈的是将来可能发生的情况,就不说That's bad,而说That'd be bad.例如:
A:Eigher I'll have to sell the cattle or Jane'll have to go back to work.
B:Oh, that'd be bad!
(Oh)That's a shame.
That's terrible/awfu.
1.If it rains on the weekend, I _ _ _(stay) at home.
2.What will you do if I _ _ _(be)late?
3.If I get any news, I _ _ _(let)you know.
4.What well you wear if it _ _ _(be)hot?
5.He_ _ _(sell)the farm if the drought doesn't end.
6.He_ _ _(move)to eh city if he gets a job there.
7.If I _ _ _(think) of it, I _ _ _(buy) some fruit.
8.If he _ _ _(pass) his exams, he _ _ _(go)on a hliday.
