President Hu visits Henan teachers

Wednesday marks the 24th Teachers' Day in China, and today President Hu Jintao met with teachers and students in two schools in Henan Province.

On Wednesday morning, President Hu visited the Zhengzhou School for the Blind and Deaf. He thanked the teachers warmly, saying they have worked hard to bring happiness and hope to disabled children.

Hu Jintao then visited another junior middle school in Qinghua county, Jiaozuo City. The president told teachers that their work is very important and is well respected by society. He hopes they will keep improving their teaching abilities and nurture more talented students.

Hu Jintao began a three-day inspection tour of Henan Province on Monday. During his inspection of Jiaozuo and Zhengzhou cities, he listened to local leaders' and other people's opinions and discussed plans to reform and develop the villages.
