OPEC will keep its official crude oil production quota unchanged until mid-December. OPEC President Chakib Khelil made the comment on Tuesday at an OPEC meeting.
The OPEC oil ministers are expected to make a formal decision on what to do about production amid rapidly falling prices.
Chakib Khelil says most OPEC members can accept prices at 100 US dollars a barrel.
The crude oil price has fallen nearly 30 percent since mid July, from a record high price of 147 US dollars. But some other oil ministers still say a reduction in output might be necessary if the oil prices continues to drop in the future.
