Human resources relate to employees of an organization, like the financial capital and physical capital, an organization depends upon its human capital. Then what is human resource management? Human resource management is concerned with the recruitment, selection, training, development, evaluation and promotion of the people within an organization. Human resource management is important in the following aspects. At the heart of human resource management, is job analysis which is a purpose for and systematic study of what is done within a job. Through job analysis, an organization is able to optimize employee performance. Based upon job analysis, human resource planning is done to determine the numbers and skills needed. Then there comes the organizational recruitment to attract employees with the necessary knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics needed. Organizational recruitment is done through job advertisements. Having got the job applicants through the advertisements, the human resource department is then to fulfill the task of employee selection, which involves the process of collecting, and evaluating information about job applicants in order to determine whether or not a job offer should be extended. Following this step, there will be employee placement, which means filling the right person to the right position, and employee training which takes place on or off the job.

Mr. Yang Dong, Mr. Sam Roy, Christopher, one of the new employees
2) Practical dialogue
Sam, there are some new employees here. They must be trained before working, please draft a training program.
OK, maybe in this way. First divide them into several groups according to their professional duty requirements, sales program, service program, and working procedure demonstration. Then train them separately. How about that?
Yes, that’s it. Make a schedule.
(Sam demonstrates the working procedure to the employees.)
When you get here in the morning, warm up the machine for 3 to 5 minutes because it needs to be heated to work well.
I got it.
Hot liquid is used in production. Remember to wear your protective gloves provided, that away you won’t get burnt. Now make sure to wear the respirator at all times. There’re harmful vapors in the area.
Don’t worry! We’ll keep that in mind.
When you remove the wrapped packs from the machines, use these tongs because they are very hot.
OK, we will do.

Mr. Alan Burbank, Victor Herod, employee of the company
2) Practical dialogue:
Victor, could you step in my office? I need to talk to you.
OK, what’s the problem?
I am afraid you are the problem Victor. We have to let you go, Victor.
Why?! I am the hardest working person here.
Well, you do seem to keep busy, but your work does not meet the quality that we require. What’s more, you don’t work well with the other employees.
Well, those guys are not the kind of people I choose for my friends. But if it’s that important to you, I will make a point of getting along with them.
I am afraid it’s too late for that. We are downsizing our work force and you will be the first but not the last to leave.
I don’t think that’s fair.
We can give you the option of resigning rather than being terminated. If you resign, that will look better on your resume when you apply for another job. However, you will then not be eligible for unemployment benefits.
Boy! That’s a tough choice. I’ll have to think about that for a while.
