A new first aid rescue system in Beijing is expected to dramatically increase hospital efficiency in saving lives.
The wireless emergency medical mobile platform in the city's ambulances will be put to use during the upcoming Olympics and Paralympics.
Wang Shan, president of Renmin Hospital, which employs the new gear, elaborated on its functions.
"This is basically an innovation in work mode, procedure and technology. Doctors may get a general picture of the patient's condition through the system before he reaches the hospital, which saves a lot of time."
He said the new emergency system employs such high-end technologies as the Global Positioning System.
It is expected to eases the pressure of an on-site rescue, and transmits an evaluation of the patient's condition to the hospital.
The system will serve the residents in the capital city following the Olympics and Paralympics.
