This year marks the 30th anniversary of China's Reform and Opening up policy. Although the country has made remarkable progress in the past three decades, the policy is facing new opportunities and challenges.
This view is agreed at the ongoing Second Meeting of the Standing Committee of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the country's top advisory body.
Political advisors made their suggestions about how to improve the opening up policy.
Wei Jianguo, an economic expert, suggested that the border regions of China should open up more.
"We should make opening up an interactive bilateral or multilateral one rather than a unilateral one along the border regions. And we should turn cross border trade into a more comprehensive and multi-level one."
Wei Jiangguo said the government of China and that of its neighboring countries can design a mechanism to regularly enhance policy coordination to facilitate bilateral or multilateral trade and investment.
Zhao Qizheng is a media insider.
"From the international economic disputes and conflicts that our country has encountered in recent year, we can tell that the media is playing a more important role in economic strategy planning."
Zhao Qizheng said China should conduct more international economic, diplomatic and cultural dialogues to improve the environment favoring economic cooperation with other countries. Zhao also suggested that China should improve its public diplomacy so as to improve public information credibility.
At the meeting, some other advisors suggested that the country should promote its overseas outsourcing business by laying out a national plan of industry development; train more talents and encourage the outsourcing enterprises to enhance their competitiveness.
