The Olympic subway route covering major sports venues in Beijing is currently being tested.
The new subway line spanning over four kilometers and four stations will ferry athletes and other passengers in and out of Olympic venues during the games.
Ye Ning is the designer of the line, which embodies the styles of Chinaware and sports elements.
"As it is very close to the National Stadium and National Aquatics Center, we tried to convey strength by overlapping triangles of different shapes when constructing the ceiling of the stations."
Beijing has been praised for getting its sporting venues ready in time for the two week-long world event in August.
The new subway line is one of the most important infrastructure elements and is expected to carry up to five million people during the Games on a daily basis.
