Top legislator visits Tianjin, calling to build int´l port city
China's top legislator Wu Bangguo has visited north China's Tianjin Municipality. He called on the metropolis to seize the historic opportunity to build itself into a prosperous international port city.
On Monday, Wu Bangguo kicked off his visit to Tianjin at the Beijing South Railway Station, the starting point of a newly-established express railway between the capital and nearby coastal city, Tianjin.
On the train, Wu Bangguo inspected the main control system. He said improving the nationwide railway network is the key to transportation development. He called for a high standard of safety and strict management of the line to gain experience for the upcoming express railway between Beijing and the economic hub, Shanghai.
Wu Bangguo visited the Municipality's Binhai District on Tuesday. His first stop was the National Development Center for Transportation Rockets. He said the establishment of the center would meet the challenge of the international aerospace market.
