The Olympic torch relay made a successful run through Songyuan in northeast China's Jilin province -- before wrapping up its morning tour at the city's Olympic Culture Park.
2008 pigeons were released in Olympic Square, before former Changchun official Li Shu began the relay. He was accompanied by a group of performers playing 2008 Matou instruments.
Songyuan is located in the central-western part of Jilin province. It's known as one of the premier tourist cities in China. The area is also famous for Chagan Lake.
A total of 110 torchbearers passed the torch along an eight-kilometer route. The final torchbearer was famous actress Bai Qing. The Olympic Flame now moves on to Jinlin city and will tour the city this afternoon (Tuesday).
