The final preparations for the Beijing Olympics are underway.

The Multilingual Service Center for the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics opened on Monday. 200 volunteers will provide 24-hour translation services in 44 languages, including English and French, by telephone and over the Internet. They are enthusiastic about their contributions to the international event.

This volunteer says language services are crucial to the success of the Beijing Olympics.
