The torch relay for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games continues its 3-day journey in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The relay began its second leg today, in the city of Wuzhong
The first torchbearer was businessman Huo Qinghua, who started the relay from Wuzhong High School. A bit of background on this torchbearer. Huo Qinghua is quite a philanthropist. He has donated 5 million yuan to the Wenchuan earthquake relief effort and more than 37 million yuan for environmental protection in Wuzhong city.
A total of 193 torchbearers will pass the torch along a route stretching nearly 6 kilometers. The relay will end at Shengyuan Square. Wuzhong is situated in the center of the Ningxia Hui Autonmous Region, neighboring Ningxia's capital Yinchuan in the north. The relay will head there on Tuesday.
