The torch relay for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games has been continuing its 3-day journey in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
Earlier on Monday the relay concluded its second leg in the city of Wuzhong.
The first torchbearer was businessman Huo Qinghua. He kicked-off the relay from Wuzhong Middle School shortly after nine o'clock in the morning. Huo Qinghua is also a philanthropist, donating 5 million yuan to the Wenchuan earthquake relief effort. He's also contributed more than 37 million yuan for environmental protection in Wuzhong city.
A total of 193 torchbearers passed the Olympic Torch along a route stretching nearly 6 kilometers. Wuzhong is situated in the center of the Ningxia Hui Autonmous Region, near Ningxia's capital of Yinchuan. Wuzhong is famous for its unique scenery. It is also home to the country's largest concentration of Hui people.
