Bush offers condolences to Philippines Typhoon victims
US President George W. Bush has sent his condolences to the victims of Typhoon Fengshen in the Philipines.
In a meeting with Philippine President Gloria Arroyo at the White House, Bush said the US will send the carrier USS Ronald Reagan and other US Navy ships to the Philippines to help.
Typhoon Fengshen has left over 200 dead in flooded communities in the central part of the country. A ferry carrying more than 850 people capsized Saturday during the height of the storm.
So far, only 48 survivors have been found and US ships are helping with search and rescue efforts.
