A group of EU delegates has visited one of the worst quake-stricken cities in Sichuan province in southwestern China. As Zeng Siwei tells us, reviews of China's quake relief work have been positive.
More than one month after the massive earthquake, trails of devastation can still be seen in Dujiangyan. But with help from across the nation and the international community, local residents are trying their best to get the city back to normal.
EU Commissioner Meglena Kuneva, the head of the delegation, tried the drinking water during Saturday's visit. It was processed by purifying equipment donated by France. The equipment has made clean water accessible to ten thousand locals. After learning that re-building efforts are proceeding steadily, Kuneva congratulated China on the achievements made so far in the quake relief work.
Delegates also said the EU will continue offering assistance to quake victims in the future.
