A 5.4-magnitude earthquake jolted northwest China's Qinghai Province late on Tuesday. This is the forth quake of a similar magnitude to hit the area in two days. No casualties have been reported.
The affected area is sparsely populated due to its altitude of about 5000 meters above sea level. Experts say there may be more quakes in the area in the coming days.
Also on Tuesday, a magnitude 5.2 quake rocked North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The epicenter of that quake was in a forest and there were no reports of casualties.
