China's quality watchdog says the agency's current work priority is to ensure the quality of major relief materials, especially tents, food and building materials.
Anyone who produces inferior products for post-quake relief efforts will face severe punishment.
Zhi Shuping is the deputy director of China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
"We are now focusing on four categories of products, namely building materials, hygienic and disease prevention products, agricultural materials and food. We will organize teams to go to the enterprises and provide relevant services. We will harshly punish those who produce fake or inferior products."
Zhi Shuping has also reiterated the agency's determination to bring to justice those responsible for the poor construction quality of collapse buildings in the quake regions.
Meanwhile, Zhi Shuping says it has provided preferential policies to facilitate the production and passage of relief aid materials from both home and abroad.
"We are providing green channels for enterprises both affected by the earthquake or are producing relief aid for the quake region. All of these enterprises are exempt from paying the production permit application fees and inspection fees. We have also simplified procedures for foreign aid coming into the quake regions."
Zhishuping adds the agency has also sent out 19 medical inspection teams to conduct disinfection work in the region.
