The first train that delivers severely injured quake survivors from Sichuan has arrived in Beijing.
All 91 injured people were delivered to Beijing Aged People Hospital to receive medical care right after their arrival.
Seventy percent of the injured people have bone fractures and 10 have brain injuries. The youngest patient is a 4 year-old boy and the oldest is a 79-year old woman.
Liu Yunhu, vice president of Beijing Aged People Hospital, says they will try their best to provide these injured people with the best medical care and accommodation.
"All of our surgeons are assigned to take care of these quake victims, of course, most of the doctors are from orthopedic surgery. Also, one healthcare worker will be assigned for each patient. We've prepared all the daily necessities they need, even including nail-clippers and sanitary towels. We will try our best to make them feel like they are at home."
Due to limited medical facilities and short-of-doctors in quake areas, many injured survivors have been delivered to neighboring provinces to receive better treatment.
