The Olympic torch has been relayed in Nanchang, capital city of east China's Jiangxi province. Nanchang is also the last leg of the relay in Jiangxi.

Before the event started, a minute's silence was observed to mourn the dead caused by Monday's earthquake.

Donation boxes were set up along the relay route.

The event in Nanchang follows the one in Jinggangshan, another city in the province.

Torchbearers in Jinggangshan expressed sympathy for victims, as well as confidence that China would overcome the disaster.

Zhou Hechun is one of the torchbearers.

''I believe the Chinese government has the ability to minimize the damage caused by the natural disaster.''

A foreign tourist visiting the region offered to help in relief and rescue efforts.

''I hope that our hearts can be together with them. We can fight for these people.''

The Olympic flame will pass through Wenzhou city in East China's Zhejiang Province on Saturday.
