American swimmer Michael Phelps has said he is expecting tough competition from Chinese swimmers at the Beijing Olympics.
Speaking at the Baltimore Club in Maryland, Phelps said Chinese athletes would come to the games with all guns blazing. But he was confident of performing well nevertheless.
Phelps said he considered Chinese swimmer Wu Peng as one of his toughest rivals.
''For me, I know Wu Peng is a very very good butterflier. He has made a lot of improvement over the last few years. I look forward to be on the race with him.''
Phelps, who won six gold medals at the Athens Olympics, has just finished a session of intensive training with his teammates in Colorado.
The team is currently short-listing the swimmers who will represent the United States at the Olympics.
