In the coastal city of Qingdao in the east, where the Olympic sailing competition will be held, local people were celebrating the Olympic countdown with a mini-marathon race.
CRI Reporter Chen Xi was there.

I'm at the square in front of the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, where thousands of people are gathering to celebrate the 100-day countdown of the upcoming Olympic Games.
Over 10,000 local citizens took part in a massive relay across the city center, in a show of support for the games.
''As a local citizen, I feel very happy and proud that Qingdao, as the co-host venue of the Beijing Olympics, will hold the sailing competition.''
''The Olympic flame relay tour will arrive in Qingdao. I think it's a great honor for the whole city. Everyone here will be very enthusiastic to welcome the torch."
''I hope that the torch relay in Qingdao will be successful and smooth.''
Liu Pengyi is an official with the Qingdao customs authorities.
''We feel most honored to be involved in the security of the Olympic Games, and we hope to offer some convenient services for athletes in respect to their customs. We also expect that all of the Olympic participants will have a wonderful time in Qingdao.''
The seven-kilometer relay, lasted an hour and a half, as runners covered the most outstanding landmarks in the city, such as Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center and Wusi Square.
