Colleges offer preferential treatment to students in quake areas
Although some students in earthquake-hit areas have lost their homes, they won't miss their opportunity to study. This is the promise from colleges and universities around the country.
They say they will offer preferential treatment for as many students as possible in the disaster-battered areas to receive further education.
The Beijing Institute of Clothing Technology has reserved 20 percent of their quota for students from Sichuan. Meanwhile, Peking University, Beijing Science and Technology University and the University of Political Science and Law will open 24-hour hotlines and provide financial support for students affected by the Sichuan earthquake.
