The large-scale exhibition entitled "Tibet, the Past and the Present" is still on display in Beijing. The exhibition is attracting a large number of people. It saw an average of 3,000 visitors a day, which rose to 6,000 over the weekend.
Many visitors, including some Tibetans living in the capital, say they're impressed by the changes in the autonomous region over the past 50 years.
A visitor said, "People's living standard there is improving. The society there is progressing."
"Comparing Tibet's past with what it is like today, I can only say that the changes over the past 50 years in Tibet were outstanding." said a visitor.
Romanian ambassador Viorel Isticioaia said, "I hope this exhibition can be displayed in foreign countries. People overseas could also have a better understanding about Tibet's history."
