Torchbearers return to base camp

Members of the team who made history by carrying the Olympic torch to the world's highest peak have received a hero's welcome at the Mount Qomolangma base camp.

All the team members were presented with a "hada" as they arrived back at the base camp. After resting at the base camp, which is at an elevation of 52-hundred meters, they will descend to a lower part of the mountain today.

A special ceremony will be held there in the morning to celebrate the successful torch relay on Mount Qomolangma.
