In an interview with CCTV, Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda has spoken highly of President Hu Jintao's visit.
Fukuda says he and Hu Jintao have exchanged views frankly and sincerely on various important issues about bilateral ties, and reached many common understandings. He says the joint statement on advancing strategic and mutually beneficial relations- signed on Wednesday is President Hu's most important achievement during his visit to Japan.
Fukuda also wished the Beijing Olympics every success, offering to do whatever he can to help.
Hu Jintao has also offered a pair of giant pandas to Japan for joint research. Fukuda says the Japanese love pandas, and he hopes the animals will come soon.
