Premier Wen meets with Barbados PM

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has met with the Prime Minister of Barbados, David Thompson in Beijing.

Wen held a welcome ceremony in the Great Hall of People. Wen said bilateral relations have developed smoothly since diplomatic ties started 31 years ago. China is willing to expand cooperation, strengthen legislative exchanges, improve understanding and friendship between the two peoples, and promote communication in international and regional affairs.

Wen noted that China supports integration of the Caribbean region and places great importance on its efforts to implement overall prosperity.

Thompson said the Barbadian government has worked to enhance cooperation between the two sides and will stick to its stance on the One-China Policy.
