In a result which compounds its heavy losses in local elections in England and Wales, the governing Labor Party in Britain has been defeated in the contest for Mayor of London. Previously banned consumer goods now are being made available to Cubans under reforms introduced by the country's new leader Raul Castro, who succeeded his elder brother Fidel in February.
