Zimbabwe High Court rejects opposition´s poll petition
Zimbabwe's High Court has rejected an opposition demand for the immediate release of long-delayed election results.
This has prolonged the political crisis that has paralyzed the country for more than two weeks.
Opposition MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai made an urgent application earlier this month, demanding the Zimbabwe Election Commission, or ZEC, release results of the March 29th presidential election.
The ZEC has ordered a vote recount in 23 constituencies where it alleges vote manipulation.
Following the court's announcement, the MDC called a nationwide strike on Tuesday in what will be the first major protest since the election.
