The Olympic torch relay has concluded its 9th leg of its global journey in Oman's capital Muscat. The last torchbearer, the vice chairman of the Oman Olympic Committee, arrived at Qurm Natural Park on Monday evening.
The 20-kilometer-long torch relay route stretched along the coast passing Al Alam Palace, old Muscat, Muscat Gate, Mutrah Souq and the Qurm Flyover until it reached Qurm Natural Park.
About 10,000 people were there to greet the flame. Macki lit the cauldron. There was a huge fireworks display and grand celebration. The torch's next stop is Islamabad, Pakistan.
