Wednesday marks the 100th day in the countdown to the Beijing Olympics. Ever since China won the bid of the 2008 summer Olympic Games seven years ago, the Chinese organizers have been preparing for the grand event. Now it's time for Beijing to tell the world: We are ready. CRI's reporter Wu Peng has more.

So far, 36 sports venues out of 37 have been ready for the Olympic Games. The Olympic village and media village are already under test run.
The National Aquatics Center, or more commonly known as "The Water Cube", is one of the flagship Olympic facilities. It will host swimming, diving and synchronized swimming events. A high-ranking IOC member Kevan Gosper has called it "out of this world" and "breathtaking".
David Neal from National Broadcasting Company Incorporated of the US shares a similar view.
"This venue, the indoor stadium, the Water Cube, is spectacular. This is the most exciting swimming stadium I've ever seen. The Games of Beijing will be my eighth Olympic Games. I've never seen anything close to this. This is dazzling. It's amazing. I think the television viewers around the world, when they see events in here, they will be so excited. It's a wonderful venue."
Besides the sports venues and other basic facilities, volunteers also contribute a lot to a successful Olympics. The Chinese people have shown enthusiasm for the voluntary work of the Games. The total number of volunteers needed during the Games is about 70,000, while the actual number of people who enrolled as volunteers has reached 1 million.
Meanwhile, Beijing has improved its air quality step by step, thanks to the efforts made by the central government and the Beijing Municipal government. Statistics from the IOC Medical Commission show that Beijing's air quality will do no harm to the athletes' health come August.
Jacques Rogge is the Chairman of the International Olympic Committee.
"We applaud the thoughts of the Chinese government to do many many measures that will not only help the Beijing Games, but will be a permanent improvement for the pollution issue in your country."
Meanwhile, Beijing has also been making great progress in terms of security, food safety, traffic and tourism. It is safe to say that Beijing is fully prepared for the upcoming Olympics.
