Now turning to the U.S. presidential election. In the Pennsylvania primary on Tuesday, Hillary Clinton defeated her rival Barack Obama , reviving her hopes of becoming the United States' first female president.
With almost all of the votes counted, the former first lady was winning 55 percent of the vote to 45 percent for her rival.
Speaking to a rally of cheering supporters in Philadelphia, the former first lady expressed her gratitude to the voters and her confidence in the future.
"Today here in Pennsylvania you made your voices heard and because of you the tide is turning. We were up against a formidable opponent."
Hiliary scored her victory by winning the support of working-class voters, women and whites in an election where the economy was the dominant concern.
She had previously won primaries in Texas, California, Ohio and her home state of New York, while Obama won his home state of Illinois.
After Pennsylvania denied him a win, Obama tried to rally support from Indiana.
"Now it's up to you Indiana. You can decide whether we are going to travel the same worn path or whether we will chart a new course that offers real hope for the future."
Despite Clinton's win in Pennsylvania, Obama remains the race's clear front-runner. And with the Democratic party's system of awarding delegates proportionally, versus winner-takes-it-all, the Pennsylvania results are believed not to significantly alter Obama's lead.
