Cars that run on clean fuels and have energy-saving functions will be the highlights of the upcoming Beijing Auto Show 2008.
The show will feature the first homemade dual- fuel vehicle with a Euro IV emissions standard.
Huang Zhongqiang is vice president of Chang'an Suzuki, a Sino-Japanese joint venture, also the maker of the hybrid car fueled by natural gas and gasoline.
"Gasoline cars usually consume 6 or 7 liters of oil in 100 kilometers. At the current oil price, that will cost about 30 to 40 yuan. However, if the car is fueled by natural gas, it only will cost 15 to 16 yuan for 100 kilometers."
Three hundred newly designed cleaning vehicles will also be on display. They will be employed for the Beijing Olympics.
The biennial Beijing Auto Show will begin next week.
The auto event has been listed as one of the international A-class auto shows. Its theme this year is "Dream, Harmony and New Vision."
