The three-hour relay in Bangkok kicked off in the city's Chinatown neighborhood and wrapped up at the King Rama the Fifth monument at the Royal Plaza.
Charouck Arirachakaran, secretary general of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand, said the upcoming Beijing Olympics is a great honor for the whole of Asia.
"I'm a Thai and an Asian. I'm glad that Beijing can host the Olympic Games. I can say every one in Asia supports the Beijing Olympic Games. I belive that the great potential that China has will win the highest honor for Asia. Western countries will see an equally successful Olympic Games in China."
This is the first time the Olympic torch relay has been run on Thai soil.
The torch has arrived in Malaysia's capital Kuala Lumpur.
