As the city to hold the first International Youth Olympic Games in 2010, Singapore says its willing to learn from China in terms of hosting high-level sports event as well as other related services.
During a recent exhibition featuring on China's preparations in the run up to the Olympics, many visitors say they are deeply impressed.
Ong Lay Hong with Channel News Asia, the only news channel covering Asia says many local people will watch the games in Beijing through her station's broadcasts.
"We will surely broadcast the matches in Beijing, because we've been supporting such events. It's very exciting to hold such an activity in Asia, particularly in China. We have been preparing special programs in this regard."
Ng Ser Miang, a senior sports official, says having the Olympics in Asia is a honor for the whole region.
"I believe it will be an unprecedented Olympics. We have noticed that Beijing has contributed much effort in this regard, with high efficiency and strong team capacity. I believe many athletes in Singapore expect good performance in Beijing as well."
