The Kathmandu Constituency -1 in Nepal has released the first results of the Constituent Assembly elections.
This is the country's only constituency where voting took place by electronic voting machine. The vote-counting started at midnight on Friday.
According to local media, the candidate of the Nepali Congress, the dominant party in the interim Parliament, Prakash Man Singh, has won the election.
Authorities are still busy tallying votes from other constituencies around the country.
Voters in Nepal have expressed hope and support for the outcome of the historic vote, the first in nine years.
"I hope because of the elections there will be peace. I hope, I really hope, that all of the political parties will work together to develop our nation."
Voting for Constituent Assembly was relatively peaceful, with turnout estimated at 60 percent of the population.
The United Nations said the turnout was a display of "overwhelming enthusiasm" for the election that many hope will usher in a new era in the country.
