Thirty-five Kenyan diplomats will soon embark on an educational trip to China during which they will undergo training in the field of diplomacy.
This is the first time that China has run such a program for an African country.
Speaking at the farewell ceremony for the students, China's ambassador to Kenya, Zhang Ming, said the training program would also have benefits for both sides by allowing them to exchange ideas and share their experiences of diplomacy.
''I'm confident that it will contribute to the enhancement of the relationship between our two ministries and the cooperation in the field of human resource development between our two countries.''
Kenyan foreign ministry officials said the program was a good opportunity to promote bilateral friendship, communication and cooperation, as well as common development between the two nations.
