Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit China in the middle of January, and China's ambassador to India, Zhang Yan, told CRI that he is confident about the visit, saying it will upgrade the relationship between the two countries.
''I believe that the visit will infuse more energy into relations between China and India and push the strategic and cooperative partnership to a higher level of stability and healthy development.''
The ambassador said in recent years, China and India have achieved fruitful results in a cooperative manner. Political trust and exchanges between the two countries have also been enhanced.
China and India have built mechanisms in strategic dialogue, diplomatic exchange and anti-terrorism dialogues. In tackling issues such as the climate change and energy security, the two countries maintain close coordination and cooperation, with both protecting the interests of the developing world.
Zhang Yan said the approaching Beijing Olympics is an important event that will combine the efforts of the Chinese and Indian people more closely.
