The annual list of China's top 500 magnates has recently been published. The combined wealth of the 500 magnates exceeds 4.3 billion yuan, or more thatn 580 billion US dollars. China has some 146 magnates who have more than a billion dollars in assets, second only to the United States.

Some magnates have made indecent proposals while making their fortunes, causing the public to have doubts about them. And official statistics also show the huge increase in Chinese magnates is attributed to high-speed increases in the stock and property markets.
