A national job fair opened at the China International Exhibition Center today in Beijing. It has attracted scores of job seekers from around the country.

Organizers of the event say employees for the Olympic Games are badly needed.

Fan Jinsheng is the deputy manager of the Beijing Foreign Enterprise Human Resources Service Company.

Sports venue construction workers were needed in the previous phase, and now we need engineering and technical employees, because we are going to run technical tests on the venues.

Fan Jinsheng also says media assistants are needed for the thousands of international reporters who will come to Beijing to cover the Olympic Games in August. Translators, interpreters and drivers for the Games will be needed as well.

The job fair will run through Sunday.
