A senior Chinese official says recent bad weather is not doing severe harm to central state-owned enterprises, especially their performance on the stock market.
Li Rongrong, head of the watchdog for state-owned assets, expressed confidence on the stock market, suggesting investors are not worried about the up-and-downs in share price.
China's central state-owned enterprises cover key sectors like energy, mineral resources, transport and so on.
Li Rongrong says although they were affected by the lack of energy and bad transport recently, these enterprises are doing a lot to keep the damage to minimum.
Don't worry. We will compensate the loss. For example, electricity is sent from north to south, where heavy snowfalls influence power supply.
The official added that central state-enterprises have made new plans for production and business. They will help the disaster-relief work in southern parts of China, while working much harder on their own production.
