French President Nicolas Sarkozy married his girlfriend, former Italian model Carla Bruni, in a small ceremony on Saturday at the presidential Elysee Palace.
Around twenty people, close family and friends attended the wedding ceremony, which was presided by Francois Lebel, mayor of Paris' eighth arrondissement.
Here's Francois Lebel.
The bride wore white, she was ravishing, as usual. The groom wasn't bad either.
The mayor said it was a historic occasion, because it is the first time in the history of this Republic that a President has married while in office.
Sarkozy, 53, and Bruni, 40, married less than three months after they reportedly first met, and the French public had a mixed reaction to their new First Lady.
