A Russian political polling organisation said on Thursday that almost three-quarters of Russian voters would vote for Dmitry Medvedev, First Deputy Prime Minister, in the March.2. presidential election.
The All-Russia Public Opinion Research Centre forecasts that more than 70 percent of voters would support Medvedev who has the strong support of President Putin.
Valery Fedorov is the head of the research centre.
The main reason why voters appear to support Medvedev is the backing of Vladimir Putin who has given a direct and clear recommendation.
He added that the three other presidential candidates trail far behind Dmitry Medvedev.
