-Neither.

-How about the crew's health?

-Very good.We have a sound journey.

-Have you hung up the"Q"flag?

-Yes.Here are some materials about the ship and the goods for you to check.

Dialogue 2

-What's the amount of this batch of grain?

-About 15,000 tons.

-We have to inspect the hold and take samples 3 times .Please cooperate with us to finish the task of opening and moving.

-Why do you take samples 3 times?

-First time of inspection should he carried when the goods are unloaded,and the second time when the unloaded goods amount to one-third and the third time two-thirds.

-Oh,I see.

-This is a certificate for taking samples please,leaves this copy to the owner of the goods or his agent,and another copy to the lab with the samples.

Dialogue 3

-The goods that we import have arrived.When can we take delivery of goods?

-When the goods have been cleared by the customs,you can apply to the local entry-exit inspection and quarantine institution for inspection with some neccessary certificates,such as contracts,receipts,and the bill of lading,you can pick up goods when the result is qualified.

-What shall inspection of commodities cover?

-Quality,specifications,quantity,packing and requirements for safety and sanitation.

-What if we find damage or shortage when we unload the goods?

-You can apply to the port's entry -exit inspection and quarantine bureau for reinspection at once,in order to find the truth and the reason along with blame.

Dialogue 4

-I'm an American who has just come to China from the holiday in Italy,and I have accepted the quarantine of the entry-exit inspection and quarantine bureau.May I know the result?And what kind of certificate can't receive?

-Oh,let me see.Congratulations!You have passed.What you will receive are two knids of certificates:Health Certificate for international travelers and International Certificate of Vaccination.You can come to draw it tomorrow.

-But I will be busy these days.Can I ask other person to draw it instead of me?

-Yes.But your agent should carry his or her credentials as well as yours.

-Thank you!Is the procedure complicated?

-No,very easy.Your agent should sign the name and the date,and check the certificates.That's OK.

Dialogue 5

-I'm the agent of the Gulf Company.I'm afraid there may be some didputes over the results of inspection.

-You can apply for reinspecion within the precribed time limit.

-Would you tell me whether we,the buyers,have the right to reinspect the goods when the goods arrive?Are we entitled to lodge claims?

-But for this item,it is international practice that the reinspection should be made within 7 days upon the arrival and if any discrepancies are found,you may lodge claims within 30 days.

-What if the results from the inspection and the reinspection are different?

-You can apply to the State Administration for Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine of the People's of China for reinspection,but this should be done within 15 days upon your receiving the former reinspecion result,and this bureau will make the final conclusion within 60 days.

Dialogue 6

-We need further explanaion for the former inspection and quarantine certificate because our company will lodge claims to the seller.Can we apply for supplement certificate?

-Yes,of course.But your company has to go through the formalities for application.

-What kinds of written material should we provide?

-The materials should be with the reason why you ask for the supplement.After we verify it,we will sign and issue the supplement certificate.

-Is the supplement certificate alone enough?

-No.It should be used together with the former certificate.
