集超级金曲词曲作者、制作人与歌手三种身份的巨星Babyface，本名 Kenneth Edmonds，于1989年出版了首张个人专辑“Tender Lover”，专辑销售达二百万张的佳绩，迅速地挤入巨星行列。Babyface除了是位优秀的歌者外，更一直是 Whitney Houston, Paula Abdul，等当红艺人所频于热情邀揽、合作的流行冠军金曲制造者，且其中有25首更是全美排行榜首之作，包括了他在1992年为BOYZ II MEN所谱写的电影‘花大少闯情关 Boomerang’主题曲 End Of The Road，此曲不仅为该团一举撞开了成功之路，成为Billboard 排行榜的13周冠军白金单曲，创下排行纪录外，据估计，Babyface本人与其作品共已获得九座葛莱美音乐奖的肯定与荣耀。此流行榜#4名作“When Can I See You”这首旋律美丽的民谣灵魂抒情曲，已拥有超过50万张的销售纪录，并成为 Babyface 流行榜上排行名次最高的金唱片单曲。

　　至今为止，仍然没有哪一个音乐人能做出像他这般辉煌的业绩。他曾多次获得格莱美奖，制作了一百多首畅销单曲，其中大多数登上R&B和流行排行榜前十名。自八十年代中期开始，Babyface 开始推出个人专辑。从1989年的《Tender Lover》开始走红，专辑卖出200多万张。1993年的《For the Cool in You》获得白金唱片，成为该年度最佳节奏与布鲁斯专辑。1995年，Babyface达到事业的顶峰。他为 BoyzⅡMen 的新专辑制作了多首作品，为 Madonna 的新专辑制作了热门单曲《Take A Bow》，而由 Whitney Houston 出演的《Waiting to Exhale》的电影原声专辑则成了 Babyface 的个人作品集，其中的歌曲大多出自他一人手笔。整个九十年代，Babyface 始终是 R&B/Pop 音乐最杰出的制作人，他以歌手、演奏者、词曲作者和制作人的多重身份开创了主流音乐的一个新时代，也建立了他自己的音乐王国。
