第四次写英语专业四级的作文，感觉还是很生疏。其实并非自己有心找题目来写的，只是自己的一些英语专业的同学拿题目来叫我写，然后和他们写的相对比，大家一起学习罢了。虽然对英语专业作文写得不多，但每次写专业作文，我总感到一种无形的压力，因为它真的比四六级难多了，它要求更高的语言词汇功底以及作文之法，要求更地道老练的表达，而这些我还在努力地学习提高中。
不过我想，无论什么作文，说到底都是一个样的。它无非都是在考你的语言表达能力及词汇，更高级的比如说GRE就考你的思想的深刻程度，考你对一个问题的剖析是否全面创新。而这所有的一切都非一朝一夕可以修炼成的。这需要你平时做个有心人，多点思考生活的方方面面，并且常练笔，把一切思绪写下来，那么在考场中就可以一看到题目便思奔千里，永远也不会遇到不够时间写或者写得很乱很糟的尴尬场面了。就像一句常用的英语谚语所说的,no pains, no gains。想要收获的话，必须要付出很大的努力。希望大家一起努力，一起提高。我想时常来我空间的都是对英语热爱的人，所以我也相信你们一定可以把英语学好！

Smoking and Cancer
Nowadays our blooming society witnesses a growing number of smokers, who are targeted by cancer as likely as not（很可能）, particularly lung cancer. I do believe there exists a strongly fateful link between smoking and cancer. Here go my several reasons
To start with, it is universally acknowledged that tobacco contains a lot of health-harmful substances, among which nicotine（尼古丁） counts largely. Nicotine one the one hand can render smokers addicted to smoking. It will not take long for the smoker to miss the cigarette urgently again after they extinguish（熄灭） the previous butt（烟蒂）. In some sense, nicotine is just acting as a drug which once you touch it you can never quite. On the other hand, nicotine is a deadly substance that can easily get the access to the affection of lung cancer. Every year numerous smokers die of lung cancer bred by nicotine inside the cigarette. Furthermore, second-hand smoke also constitutes an enormous menace（威胁） to the non-smokers. The baneful substances emitted by the smoke do far more harm to the non-smokers than smokers themselves. In this sense we can draw a conclusion that the second-hand smokers also face great hazard of the onfall of lung cancer.
Altogether, smoking and cancer are just like two intimate（亲密的） couples who are unwilling to depart even for a short moment. If you want to lower your possibility of being attacked by cancer and live a long life span, go out of your way not to smoke or quite smoking as soon as possible.
